Some Fall Decorating & Some Dollar Store Finds...

Fall is slowly approaching us here in Louisiana, It can't come fast enough! The weather has cooled down some, and so I am slowly placing things around my home, for the fall touch.
Now remember my hubby and I are in the process of remodeling an old farmhouse, so I am still waiting on a few things to get done around here, like molding around the center of our kitchen, so bare with us, I plan on showing some before and afters some time next week....

I found the pumpkins several years ago, at a pharmacy, they have a small gift shop inside.
The pumpkin (isn't he cute!:) found him at Hobby Lobby, I found the broom at Walmart, and tied ribbon around the stick, the arrangement comes from Michaels.

Happy Scarecrow on top of fridge, he's very old and could use some tlc, but I think he's happy to be out of storage anyway!

This is a metal pumpkin that holds a tealight and I just love these.....

You can see I need molding in this pic, hubby should be finished this week, with this project, I picked up this cute little scarf, at my local Goodwill.

I know this picture looks crooked :)
Because it is! I can't ever seem to get a proper pic of this shelf without a ladder, it's really high on the wall, but you get the idea....

This is our dining room, and I am currently on the hunt for a larger dining table.

I put this together really quick, I found that large candle holder at Goodwill for 99 cents.....

Even the topiary and the birdcages got a little decoration with some fall ribbons.

My hutch got a little Fall going on too......

I found these cute little witch shoes years ago, I love them!!

I found this little candle holder at Walmart many years ago, they put out a warm glow.....

My tray, that I made out of a picture frame, you can see more of these, at myromantichome.blogspot.com  Cindy gave us this great idea, it is holding a few Fall decorations.......

I love sunflowers, I just placed this little swag in my decanter, for a fall look....

A few pumpkins here and there, do you see the leaf hanging on the lamp switch?

I found these yesterday, at my local Dollar Store, I just love them, they were only a $1.00 a piece......

See the G coasters, I found those at a thrift store.
Yay for thrift stores, you can always luck out and find something neat for not so much money......

You see the red checkered tablecloth? Yes, it's a tablecloth, I found it on Ebay, and thought it would look cute thrown on the back of my couch, since this living room is French Country decorated, and it works!!
My large arrangement in the back on my sofa table is out all year round, and it works really for any season.

Yellow forthsythia tucked in the corner, yellow works so well against red.  Well, I hope you enjoyed looking around my home and my Fall decorating, more to come soon.
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh and yes curtains will be going up soon in this red room, I have 15 windows all around this room, so wish me luck with that too!!

LOVELY VINTAGE LINENS

I'm not really sure when it started?  I have many of them, I love them, I am always looking at them, touching them, thrifting for them, buying them online.......
I'm pretty sure my biggest weakness is those with the teapots on them.....
This one demanded that I buy it there on the spot!!
Then I saw this one..... oh my, well, of corse, I could use a pair?
I have to admit, I love red! The color is marvelous...
then, when you add a little lace........
I know there's a pattern here, can you see it too?
I'm also loving having my newly painted dresser in my kitchen, to fill up
                                    with lots of pretties......
I think they like having a new home here,
I'm also glad their here to stay.......

Some thrift shopping......

Lately, things have been a little crazy round here, and I alway's feel better when I go shopping, specially at goodwill, I alway's leave with a smile on my face.....I picked up this woven basket with the handles, and I just adore it, not sure what I'll do with it yet, not even sure if I should paint it, I like it as is, but we'll see......
I found this bowl too,  I love the yellow roses.
I found this cute little cup, well I really think it may be a candle holder more than likely,  I wish the image of the owl would show up better, it's sweet, maybe I'll put a yankee votive in it.....
A new teacup to add to my ALWAYS growing collection......

These two little guys make me smile, I love santa's and was thrilled to find the cottage looking one, I fell in love!!
Love the detail on these two..
I also found these, they are salt and pepper shakers,  I actually just figured that out when I was taking their pic's.
Thanks for visiting today!!!!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!!!

HAPPY FRIDAY AND A DECOUPAGE PROJECT!

First of all, Happy Friday to all of you, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend........
Now, I've always wanted to try my hand at decoupage, but I was always a bit nervous, didn't want to "fail" so to speak, boy was I silly, it's so simple, not to mention FUN!!!
So this week I decided to go to the Dollar Tree. I admired all the gift bags, they have so many pretty ones for only a $1.00, and you can't beat that with a stick!

A while back I found these  beautiful cards by Carol Wilson http://www.carolwilson.com/  if you've never seen her work, you must visit her website, her cards or so beautful..
Their blank on the inside, so you just pull them apart to use for your decoupage project.
I found this little round table at Goodwill, for $3.00, sorry no before pic's, it was just wooden, and unfinished, I painted it white, and then sanded down the top for a smooth surface to work on......
I also used some scrap paper that I've had forever that I found on ebay.com.
I used my itty bitty scissors to cut the image out off of the gift bag, and used my modpodge, and a wet sponge to clean up the extra glue on and around my images.....
The finished table... I think it turned out really cute, I may bring it on the porch, or leave it inside, I guess i'll move it around, here and there. I want to thank all of you who encouraged me to try this.
                            Have a wonderful weekend!!!!!!
